From the purple mountains majesty through the fields of waving grain, flow the rivers and lakes of the American plains.

The light blue represents our blue skies.
The purple depicts the mountain in the western part of our district. White forms the snow capped peaks.
The "dirty" gold forms the grains grown in this heartland of our nation.
The dark blue depicts the rivers (Missouri, Mississippi, and Illinois) and lakes in our district.
